This is an opportunity to prepare individual teachers/managers or whole school staff and students for an inspection and to develop middle and senior managers in their leadership roles.
I work with your managers and go through the steps of an inspection including analysis of data, evidencing perceptions of performance and drawing conclusions from the evidence.
Prior to a trial inspection the areas of focus and timescale would be agreed. Those nominated to take the role of inspector would have a chance to discuss the process and procedure. A preliminary questionnaire would be completed to ensure expectations of the process are met. This would be followed up with an exit questionnaire to monitor changes.
This is a great opportunity to underline the areas of development for your organisation and expectations of teachers. It raises the emphasis on learning and teaching and highlights areas to showcase, improve or evidence prior to a formal inspection.
